Apple officially buries iPhone 5

Unveiled for the first time in 2012, theiPhone 5 has just officially joined the list of obsolete devices. This means that the smartphone is no longer eligible for repair at Apple. As a reminder, this was the first iOS device with a large 4 inch screen.

The decision made by Apple means that the iPhone 5 is obsolete and that neither it nor authorized dealers will be able to carry out repair on the phone. The user will therefore have to obtain them on the Web or from other independent resellers.

Note that this smartphone has had extended support. In principle, Apple’s mobile products are entitled to five years of support. The iPhone 5 had six.
