A few days ago, the site HITS Daily Double gave the first estimates of the number of subscribers to Apple Music, Apple’s music streaming service launched last June (read: Apple Music: already more than 10 million subscribers?).
In an interview published recently by the site USA Today, senior vice president of internet software and services at Apple Eddy Cue said that Apple Music has passed the milestone of 11 million users only five weeks after its launch.
Without going into details, Cue simply said: “We are delighted with the results so far”. In addition, USA Today reports that 2 million of the 11 million Apple Music users have subscribed to the family subscription at € 14.99 / month, which gives six people unlimited access to the service on their respective devices.
Of course, it should be borne in mind that the Cupertino company offers all Apple Music users a 3-month trial period during which it is not necessary to pay a penny. It will therefore be necessary to wait for October to know the real figures concerning subscribers, and to judge the success of Apple Music.
