If you have a speaker with Alexa – Amazon’s voice assistant – and use Apple Music, this news is for you: it is finally possible to control your music from Apple Music on all connected speakers equipped with Alexa . But you have to be in France, Germany or Italy.

There are two ways to do this. You can ask Alexa to play music, but while specifying which streaming service to use, Apple Music as it happens : “Alexa, Play Right Back by Khalid on Apple Music” ; alternatively, you should define Apple Music as the default music streaming service, so you can start music without having to specify the service: “Alexa, play in Lou’s blue sky”.

In the second case, here is how to do it:

  1. Open the Amazon Alexa app, then tap on the menu button placed in the upper left corner
  2. Then press Settings
  3. Then in preferences Alexa, press Music
  4. Tap on Link a new service.
  5. Choose Apple Music
  6. Then press Activate
  7. Then follow the instructions to log in with your Apple ID.

However, it is still possible to configure the connection between Alexa and Apple Music by going to this address if you do not want to go through the Amazon Alexa app.
