Every year, Apple used to obsolete some of its old devices. After some of its computers released between 2009 and 2010 (read: MacBook Pro & Mac Mini: Apple will make certain models obsolete), the Cupertino company has just signed the death warrant for the second generation Apple TV launched September 1, 2010.
Earlier this week, Apple updated the English page on its media “Vintage and obsolete products”By discreetly adding the Apple TV 2 in the vintage category. For its part, the page intended for France has not yet been updated but should be in the days to come.
As a reminder, old products (vintage) include those that have not been manufactured for more than 5 years (for less than 7 years maximum). Apple no longer performs hardware repairs on these. If your Apple TV 2G breaks down, the apple brand will therefore not provide after-sales service.
