According to Nikkei BP Consulting Inc.'s annual study, Apple became the most powerful brand in Japan in 2012, falling from the top spot in just one year. The American company is ahead of Google, Uniqlo, Youtube, Disney and MacDonalds.
In one year, Apple has managed to become the most powerful brand in Japan, rising from the top spot in the world. The company would of course have benefited from the success of the iPhone 4S and the new iPad, which have certainly played a role in this increase in “brand awareness”, but also the lack of success of other brands which have not necessarily experienced commercial success over the same period. The ranking established by Nikkei BP Consulting Inc. is based on a study carried out among 52,000 people between November and December 2011.
