The first opinions are unanimous: the AirPods Max are better than the WH-1000XM4. Apple’s brand new headset has thus surpassed that considered to be the most efficient on the market for a few years, thanks in particular to its impeccable noise reduction and sound quality. However, users regret a too light autonomy for its price of 629 euros.
Apart from the bizarre design of its protective cover, the AirPods Max seem to have won over its first users. If we are to believe the first tests, Apple’s headphones have it all, so much so that they are, according to some, simply better than the Sony WH-1000XM4, yet considered perfect across the board. The overall sound experience, its build quality and its high performance noise reduction technology have thus won unanimous support among audiophiles.
The latter also comes up regularly among the comments, which define it as “The best noise reduction ever, better than the Sony WH-1000XM4”. Although she does “Not completely silence your environment”, it still manages to reduce traffic noise to the point where it is “Barely audible”.
AirPods Max are being emulated by testers
The testers also praised Apple’s choice to use metal to boost the strength of the headset. Nevertheless, they note that this one is found weighed down, which could spoil the experience for some. On the other hand, it is clear that the Cupertino company is faithful to its reputation by offering a product that is not ready to let go. Good news for its users who keep praising Dolby Altmos sound quality that it delivers.
The only real negative point highlighted by users is, unsurprisingly, his autonomy. Indeed, the AirPods Max allow 20 hours of listening continuously, making it the only area where the Sony WH-1000XM4 beats it down with its 30 hours of listening. At the price of 629 euros, either all the same 270 euros more that its competitor, the headset from Apple disappoints and could well lose points with less fortunate music lovers. As a reminder, AirPods Max will be available on December 15 next.
