The announcement is surprising. To provide its customers with an almost flawless and always operational system, the apple brand is installing data centers around the world. So services like iCloud, Apple Music or theApp store work properly every day. In Europe, Apple had made Denmark one of its favorite destinations. So much so that after having acquired 285 hectares and installed the foundations of a data center there two years ago, the firm wanted to start building a second one. But the project has just come to an abrupt end.

“As we approach the completion of our new data center in Viborg in central Jutland in Denmark, we have decided to focus on growing this site instead of building an additional data center in Aabanraa,” said Apple at Reuters on Tuesday. The data center was to cost Apple the modest sum of a billion dollars. A great economy made by the American giant, therefore.

The municipality of Aabanraa revealed that it had received a simple phone call from Apple to announce the news. A decision that particularly surprised her. Regarding the Viborg data center, the first construction phase should be completed by the end of 2019.
