The release of a iPhone of 4 inches is a rumor that has been shaking the web for many months already (read: iPhone 7C: 4 inch screen & released in Q1 2016?). KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has released a new report outlining his expectations for 2016, and has shared several interesting details regarding Apple?s future smartphones.
First, Kuo believes that the Cupertino company is still working on a 4-inch iPhone that ?will look like an improved iPhone 5S?. The device could be launched during the first half of next year and would be equipped with an A9 processor. In addition, the man thinks that this future small screen iPhone will not offer the 3D Touch, in order to differentiate it from the current iPhone 6S and 6S Plus. He projects that Apple could ship between 20 and 30 million units of this new smartphone before the end of 2016.Regarding theiPhone 7, Kuo expects a release in the usual third quarter of 2016, with no surprise a new A10 chip offering increased performance. He believes that Apple will choose to differentiate the two iPhone 7s in terms of RAM, with 2 GB on the 4.7-inch model and 3 GB of RAM on the iPhone 7 Plus and its 5.5-inch panel. This ?for performance reasons?.
Finally, the analyst believes that the big winners for the 2016 iPhone cycle will be the manufacturers Foxconn, which should be the exclusive supplier of the 4-inch iPhone, and TSMC, which will logically deal with all A9 chips. used in this phone as well as A10 chips used in the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus.
