Apple occupies 40% of the smartphone market in North America, far ahead Samsung which peaks at 29.3%. If theiPhone XR is the most popular, the total sale of the brand’s devices fell by 19%.

The first quarter of 2019 may seem favorable to the Cupertino company. On his native land, Apple almost monopolizes the sale of smartphones. TheiPhone XR represents 13% of sales, far ahead of Galaxy S10 + of Samsung which reaches 6%.

However, the amount ofiPhone sold continues to fall since last year. The apple firm sold 14.6 million of its flagship product against 17.9 million in 2018, in the United States and Canada. The loss of turnover is significant for Apple which realizes the worst quarter of its existence. The biggest increase comes from Lenovo which, in fourth place, posted a 42% increase in sales.

The future remains bright for Apple which generated five times more profit than Huawei. The Chinese manufacturer largely surpasses its American counterpart in terms of the number of smartphones sold in the world, but does not reap such significant margins. Benefits linked to device dependence Apple to their brand ecosystem. And this is not the diversification started by Tim Cook with the creation of new video services (Apple TV +) or video games (Apple Arcade) which will capitulate the American giant.
