Apple recently announced that the maximum size of applications on the App Store has been increased from 2 GB to 4 GB. These new limits should delight developers of high definition games, whose graphic effects require a lot of disk space.
However, the Cupertino company said that this change did not affect the maximum size of an application that can be downloaded via the cellular network. It is therefore always impossible for you to retrieve from the App Store an app or a game weighing more than 100 MB without being connected to a Wi-Fi network.
The 2 GB limit was established when the App Store was created, so this is the first time that Apple has decided to increase it. This prevented certain games from being available on the App Store, such as Final Fantasy VII.
