Android Lollipop for one device in ten

Google has just updated its figures for developers. The opportunity to see the progress of Android Lollipop. The jump is significant over the last month with an increase of more than five points which brings Lollipop to an adoption rate of around 10%.

These figures are as a reminder in connection with connections to Google Play. For Lollipop, the distribution is between 9% of Android 5.0 and 0.7% of Android 5.1 which remains very shy for the moment.

The most common version of Android on terminals is the 4.4 KitKat alias with an adoption rate of almost 40%. KitKat is however in decline over the last month which reverses for the first time its upward trend. Mechanically, this is to be linked to the progression of Lollipop.

Jelly Bean lost its title of version of Android most present on the terminals last April. Now, its adoption rate drops to a total close to 39%. All the same a sacred resistance.

The progression of Lollipop should logically quickly be confirmed taking into account the availability of smartphones like the Samsung Galaxy S6 or the HTC One 9. The fragmentation of Android has in any case been an opportunity for Microsoft to slip an unexpected tackle .
