Android 10 Deploying For OnePlus 6 And 6T – GKZ Hitech

For a few hours, the new stable update of Android 10 for the OnePlus 6T has been reported, apparently without fanfare or associated announcement on the OnePlus forums, as is customary. In addition to bringing all the features of Android 10 you can expect, the OxygenOS 10 update for the 6T also includes the company's Play Space feature and the "Contextual Display" ambient display feature.

This calendar corresponds to the best possible scenario for the roadmap initially projected by the company, according to which the OnePlus 6T and 6 would have Android 10 at some point in November. Today, being the first of the month, it would be as soon as possible. It also follows the publication of the open beta at the end of last month.

The complete changelog for this update (which generally corresponds to the previous open beta) can be found just below:

About half of the journal, in volume, corresponds to general changes related to Android 10, such as the new gesture navigation system, the improved permissions model and the customization of the icon shape. Some of the features are specific to OnePlus / OxygenOS and are new to 6T, such as blocking keywords in the OnePlus Messages app and the popup display function (formerly called smart display), which was one of my favorite features. in our recent OnePlus 7T review. .

OxygenOS 10.0 update notification and change log on OnePlus 6T in Oxygen Updater.

As usual, the update takes place in a limited way for the moment. None of my own devices see it alone. Some have been lucky using a VPN to connect to one of OnePlus' test markets, like Germany. You can also get the 6T update now via third-party software. Oxygen Updater application (also available on Mirror APK). Note that there are some reports that failed to verify the images during the download, although I did not experience any problems myself.

The size of this update is also quite large, with around 1.8 GB for what we assume to be the full image. You may want to use Wi-Fi before you turn it down. As you warned in the Oxygen Updater app, if you are converting a T-Mobile brand 6T to the international model, you may want to wait for the update until others have checked to see if there is problems because the previous open beta contained serious conversion issues. devices.

At the time of this writing, the update does not seem to be launched yet for the old OnePlus 6, although historically, the updates concern the pair of phones around the same time. More anecdotally, my OnePlus 6 sees no updates available in the settings or in Oxygen Updater, and online reports seem to be limited to 6T at the moment. Our XDA friends say that Oxygen Updater users have seen it start working for OnePlus 6 and that we will keep you posted when the update is detected in the wild on this device, or if an official announcement lands there. 'ad. update.

The update has been officially announced on the OnePlus forums. It is a phased deployment to a limited number of OnePlus 6 and 6T devices today, then all users in a few days, once OnePlus is certain there are no critical bugs.
