Android 10 arrives on the Huawei Mate 20 Pro

Something promised, something due. The Chinese manufacturer seems to have started rolling out the latest Android 10 update on its Mate 20 Pro. The flagship of the Mate range launched last year therefore benefits from EMUI 10 (low on Android 10) as well as the last security patch of September 2019.

The update currently deployed by Huawei which weighs 4.42 GB and which brings version 10.0.0.136 includes the latest security patch dated September but also adds some features borrowed from Android 10, such as dark mode.

So this is great news for the Mate 20 Pro family. Huawei respects the promise it had made at IFA 2019. Failure to take advantage of the new Mate 30 Pro due to the ongoing conflict between Huawei, and more particularly China, and the United States, the manufacturer Chinese software monitoring of its products on the market. We bet that the South Korean manufacturer will keep the same logic in the months that follow, even after the possible end of the ban exercised by the USA.

How can I check for a new update?

You have several possibilities to update your device. The simplest is obviously to wait for the manufacturer to offer it (ie in OTA), or you install it manually. As you can imagine, manual installation can be quite complicated for beginners: you have to use an image file (usually provided by the manufacturer) and install it after performing a few manipulations.

To check for a new software update on your Huawei Mate 20 Pro:

• Go to the settings
• Click on system then Software update
• Select the option Check for updates and wait a few seconds. If there is a new update, download and install it.
