New second generation iPad covers have just appeared. The photographs of these covers clearly show two new orifices which could accommodate: an SD slot for the one located on the left side, i.e. a mini DisplayPort port on the top of the iPad. Or it can be a completely different opening for another connection.
The size of the opening on the top of the cover leaves little room for doubt and could very well accommodate this mini DisplayPort output which is already present on all new Macs. A way for Apple to offer a video output that will necessarily require a VGA, DVI or HDMI adapter depending on the screen on which you want to connect it.
The second generation iPad is expected in the first half of 2011. Apple may still have some surprises in store for us.
We discuss it on the forum.
