Announced in May, the first all-electric production vehicle Volkswagen ID.3 has entered the pre-production phase and will be the subject of a first special edition limited to 30,000 copies.
The manufacturer launched pre-orders (registration with deposit of € 1,000) and was pleased to have passed the milestone of the first 10,000 requests in just 24 hours.
Almost a month later, it is the cap of 20,000 pre-orders which is crossed for this ID.3 1st edition. Jürgen Stackmann, member of the Volkswagen board of directors, welcomed his enthusiasm which seems to go beyond expectations of reaching 30,000 pre-orders by September.
The Volkswagen ID.3 presents itself as a compact sedan, the series version of which will not be available before mid-2020 with several possibilities of battery capacities. The 1st edition will use the average capacity (58 kWh) offering a little more than 400 km of autonomy in the WLTP cycle.
