If you have recently purchased a Mac, it may be running under OS X 10.11 El Capitan. As a reminder, this is the penultimate major version of the Apple operating system for Apple (released in September 2015), the latest being macOS 10.12 Sierra. If this is your first OS X machine and your knowledge is therefore quite limited, it can be relatively difficult to master OS X 10.11 El Capitan at the start.
We had the opportunity to refine our knowledge of the OS through the training of Bleyzat (trainer and independent consultant) on Alphorm. Entitled “Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan Client”, It is divided into two parts:“Acquire the fundamentals”Proposes to master the configuration of Macintosh clients for a more pleasant work and increased productivity, and“Master advanced techniques”, Lets you get to know Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan from top to bottom and pass its ACSP certification (Apple Certified Support Professional) with confidence.
OS X 10.11 El Capitan Client (1/2): Acquiring the basics
In this first part, we learn how to install OS X El Capitan, configure it, discover the interface of OS X and create an installation disc. The training then focuses on user accounts (management, security, keychains), and file systems (FileVault, permissions, utilities). The last step concerns data management (shortcuts, system resources, metadata, Spotlight, Time Machine, etc.).
In addition to the video, the training is also offered in PPT format (PowerPoint slideshow) for faster access to information when needed. OS X 10.11 El Capitan client (2/2): Mastering advanced techniques
After having followed the first training, the second part allows you to go further and address the applications and processes (installation, management), and the network (fundamentals, advanced configurations, utilities and services, sharing and Firewall). BLEYZAT then approaches the management of peripherals and drivers (printers, scanners, etc.) and offers to discover the processes and start-up mode, backup as well as an initiation to scripting (Automator and Shell) for the most motivated.
Again, the training is offered in PPT format (PowerPoint slideshow) in addition to the video. For more information, visit the Alphorm website at this address. Training “OS X 10.11 El Capitan client (2/2): Mastering advanced techniques”Is available at the price of 66 euros including tax.
