Will the new iPhones attract people? Udo investigation conducted by Wolf Ventures suggest Yes. In addition, the intention of iPhone users to purchase a new model is much higher this year than last year.
48% of iPhone users plan to switch to a new model
Wolf Ventures asked 530 American consumers about their intention to buy a new model among the next iPhone this year. Of the 530 people surveyed, 48% of them said they plan to upgrade to a new iPhone in the next year. This percentage is much higher than that of last year; in June 2017, 25% of respondents said they plan to buy a new iPhone in the next year. However, the company considers this percentage (48%) to be an outlier, since the intention to buy and the actual purchase may vary from cycle to cycle.
The survey also found that among the 48% of people who plan to buy a new iPhone, 42% say they want to buy one of the three models announced to be available this fall, 18% for the iPhone X, 16% for the iPhone 8 and 24% for another iPhone.
Moreover, Wolf Ventures also questioned Android users. Of the 530 respondents, according to the results of the survey, 212 (or 40%) were Android users. Among them, 41 people (19%) say they plan to buy an iPhone next year. This compares to 12% of Android users who planned to purchase an iPhone last year.
Finally, the survey also capitalized on consumer interest in augmented reality, an area in which Apple has been incredibly optimistic: ” We also asked people if they would have more or less interest in buying a phone with more powerful augmented reality capabilities. This time, 32% of respondents said they would be more interested, compared to 21% when we asked the same question in September 2017 “, has indicated Wolf Ventures.
