The group LG Electronics unveiled its benchmark smartphone LG G4 in April and is counting on it to ensure its recovery in the smartphone segment, despite the increasingly stiff competition in the sector.
The smartphone presents the latest refinements in mobile technologies but to secure its position on the market, the group should launch a second benchmark smartphone later in the year, as it did in 2014 with the couple LG 3 and LG G Pro 2, reports the site Focus Taiwan.
With a second high-end smartphone after mid-2015, LG Electronics hopes to increase sales on the two high-end models by 30% compared to last year with the LG 3 and LG G Pro 2. The characteristics of the next flagship would not yet be finalized.
The bet is risky to the extent that the launch of high-end smartphones requires large marketing investments to ensure visibility. There is also the question of the possibility of cannibalization of visibility between the two models, even if they remain differentiated by their range.
We can expect to see perhaps arriving for the IFA fair in Berlin in September a LG G Pro 3 which would ensure continuity at the end of the year.
