There are several levels of rumors, depending on the reliability of the source and the excitement caused by the rumor.
With the corridor noise coming in, we have a combo clickbait efficient, with a source whose reputation sometimes leaves something to be desired, but with crisp information. According to Digitimes, Apple may release a new 13-inch MacBook this year.
apple would like a new 13 "macbook in 2018
According to "industrial sources", the Taipei media explains that the screen maker"General Interface Solution is expected to sign a new purchase order with Apple for more LCD modules, which are expected to be unveiled in an entry-level 13-inch MacBook in the second half of 2018".
The agreement with this supplier – already working on the iPhone X – would have started to take effect last quarter and the president of the company would have entrusted himself that the manufacture of screens for notebooks currently represents a "small portion of income".
With this new order, GIS should go from 300,000 screens produced per month to 600,000 by the end of the year.
Unfortunately, there is not the slightest technical detail on this possible new headed device whereas this time, the rumor seems rather well documented.
