a glass and metal smartphone?

The group Samsung is expected on the appearance of its next flagship smartphone in the Galaxy S family, after two models that created continuity of design and maintained a plastic shell when other manufacturers turned to metal.

Samsung galaxy s5 For the Galaxy S6, the code name Project Zero signals a willingness to put things right. The Korean group could eventually switch to metal, as it began to propose with the Galaxy Alpha and the range Galaxy A.

From Korean sources, the Galaxy S6 would have front and back sides glass linked together by metal slices, which is reminiscent of what Apple could offer for its iPhone.

This new configuration would mark a clear evolution of the design, while Samsung has so far remained very attached to plastic, offering a plastic back in imitation leather right down to its latest high-end models.

Will Samsung also radically change the design of its benchmark smartphone? There is no concrete evidence to confirm this at present. The transition to metal remains a subject of debate and the main models of 2014, Galaxy S5 and Galaxy Note 4, remained on plastic.

The fact remains that the Galaxy Alpha and Galaxy A smartphones open a new chapter in the group's strategy when it is under increased pressure from Chinese manufacturers and metal finishes could multiply on the next models.
