a Galaxy S7 smartphone … in clamshell format!

The flip smartphones have had their heyday but with the arrival of the iPhone and the dogma of the black tactile rectangle, this format has almost disappeared from the market. Despite everything, the manufacturer Samsung still regularly offers some models, some in the mid-range and others in the high-end.

Last year, the group announced a model SM-W2016 in a limited series which included the characteristics of the Galaxy S6 but in a flap format with 3.9-inch OLED display and Exynos 7420 processor, reserved for distribution in China.

According to the site SamMobile, Samsung is expected to do the same this year with a flip-flop smartphone codenamed Samsung veyron and which corresponds to the reference SM-W2017. Once again, it should offer a 3.9-inch Super AMOLED display in HD resolution (1280 x 720 pixels) and offer an Exynos 8890 SoC, like the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge.

This flap model should offer a 12 megapixel main photo sensor and a 5 megapixel front module. The metal and glass shell should be close to that of the Galaxy S7 models but perhaps without the waterproof side.

The Samsung Veyron should however again be reserved for the Chinese market.
