Long ago, if you wanted to get a makeover, you usually had to go to a physical store and visit a cosmetic kiosk. In early 2010, bulky websites where you could upload a photo of yourself for a makeover Free virtual apps appeared, they were fun, but not great.

Trying new looks is easy these days, however, dozens of selfie tools for Android and iOS make it even easier.

Here are several amazing applications that will give you a virtual metamorphosis.

1. Hairdressing makeover

Years ago, we covered a makeover site called taaz.com.Taaz was a great online virtual makeover site that allowed you to add a number of enhancements to profile photos downloaded with a click of mouse.

The ease of uploading photos made it an attractive tool, and the website was free to use: all you had to do was sign up. Unfortunately, Taaz is no longer available, but similar apps have emerged. One such application is Hairstyle Makeover.

Hairstyle Makeover is a free virtual makeover application that lets you try new hairstyles. You can test these hairstyles with one of the built-in models or try a new look on a photo of yourself.

Hairstyle Makeover is similar to Tazz's makeover system, and it's good for trying out basic colors and cuts. That said, the app is undoubtedly compared to most other tools available. It is also only available for iOS.

Mary Kay Virtual Makeover is an incredibly fun and fairly advanced application. It is also one of the best experiences of virtual metamorphosis due to its usefulness.

Through the app, you can try a wide range of cosmetics using a variety of built-in styles. You can also use your own face to try new hairstyles and virtual makeover looks.

3. Perfect365

Perfect365 is one of the best virtual makeover apps you can use. After trying it, I was incredibly impressed with its face mapping capabilities.

Unlike the Mary Kay virtual editing app, where you have to manually tell her to trace your face, Perfect365 automatically maps your features when your photo is uploaded, and does so with shocking precision.

If your face does not match properly, Perfect365 allows you to manually adjust the points by long pressing. Once your face is mapped, you can choose from a selection of preset appearances. The app also allows you to design your own appearance from from zero.

Once you're done, you can tap the screen to see your face before and after applying the virtual makeover. There are so many different styles you can try for free.

The only downside is that you can download the edited photos to your phone, but the photos are in low resolution. If you want to download a higher resolution, you need to do one of the following:

  • Pay for the full app to save unlimited photos.
  • Get high resolution photos for free for 60 days by completing a survey.
  • Download the image for free (once) by watching a video.

There is also the option of a Perfect365 PLUS subscription, which unlocks all the features of the application and reduces advertising.

A final choice is the free Camera360 virtual retouching app, which is one of my personal favorites.
