The first beta of iOS 13.4 (and iPadOS) is available a few hours ago now (cf. Apple offers to download the beta 1 of iOS 13.4 and the beta 1 of iPadOS 13.4), and it brings several novelties. Below we have compiled all the changes that have been found so far in this version.
New toolbar in Mail
The Mail app has a new toolbar. The update moves the icon away to respond to a message from the trash can icon. This new design is reminiscent of iOS 12. Apple, with iOS 13, moved these two buttons next to each other, which resulted in accidental deletion of some emails instead of replying to them.
Apple TV app
The Apple TV application offers the “Family Sharing” option in the Library tab.
Action of Shazam shortcuts
There is a new Shazam shortcut option when creating a shortcut in the Shortcuts app.
Sharing folders in iCloud Drive
During the presentation of iOS 13, Apple presented the sharing of folders in iCloud Drive, allowing users to share folders with others. It was removed during the test period. But with iOS 13.4, folder sharing in iCloud is finally available.
New Memojis stickers
In iOS 13, Apple introduced Memojis stickers which are Emoji style stickers that showcase your Memojis and Animojis characters. In iOS 13.4, there are nine new Memojis stickers.
MacOS / iOS Unified Purchases
Apple has introduced a new feature that will allow you to buy an iOS application once on the App Store and have the Mac application on the Mac App Store automatically (the reverse will also be possible). But it will be if the developer offers this option.
There are new controls for calls and navigation controls by third-party applications in CarPlay.
It seems to have a new API in iOS 13.4 called CarKey which is designed to allow the iPhone and Apple Watch to unlock, lock and start a compatible car, as the site notes 9to5Mac. So theUsers will be able to use CarKey in vehicles with NFC capabilities with their iPhone or Apple Watch. Authentication via Face ID will not be required and the initial pairing process will be done via the Wallet app. CarKey can be shared with other people.
Keyboard shortcuts on iPad
On the iPad, new keyboard shortcuts arrive in the Photos application to navigate between tabs, search and create albums. In full screen mode, there are also keyboard shortcuts for deleting photos, duplicating photos and entering Edit mode.
An application can again ask the user to permanently access its location, after first choosing the option “When the app is active”. Some apps, like Tile, still want access to provide full tracking functionality.
Remapping keys on the iPad keyboard
As reported by the developer Steve Troughton-Smith, there seems to be a new option for remapping keys on a keyboard that is connected to the iPad.
If you see something new that we missed, don’t hesitate to write it down in the comments.
