The Total War license recently marked its 15th anniversary, since the first installment of the saga, Shogun: Total War, was released in 2000 on PC. The turn-based strategy game license recently came back to the fore with the release of Total War: Attila last February.
In order to mark this 15th anniversary, the Creative Assembly studio announced a partnership with Games Workshop and revealed the development of Total War: Warhammer. Also, it will be the first licensed game to exploit the heroic fantasy universe that Warhammer fans have known since 1983.
A first cinematic video dubbed in French was broadcast for the occasion, displaying the universe of the franchise, including the different races that will come to compete.
Total War: Warhammer presents itself as the first part of a trilogy which will consist of two future stand-alone extensions. For the moment, the release date of this first chapter has not been officially communicated.
