Radeon R9 390X vs GeForce GTX Titan X: advantage for AMD?

While graphics cards GeForce GTX Titan X and Radeon R9 390X are not yet on the market, here are several benchmarks highlighting their performance are found on the Web. We discover the average performance obtained with 19 games in definitions 2,560 x 1,600 pixels and 3,840 x 2,160 pixels, as well as raw performance and energy consumption.

Based on the results, AMD's Radeon R9 390X would slightly outperform Nvidia's GeForce GTX Titan X. This would indeed be played out some FPS, or frames per second. If this is confirmed, Nvidia will have to adjust its pricing positioning, in order to avoid a gap that is too large for similar performances or slightly below.

We also note that this would be done at the sacrifice of energy consumption, which is more important a few tens of watts. 33 Watts, to be precise. It seems that AMD has made good progress on this side, but that it still has work to do to reach the level of Nvidia.

As usual with post-launch benchmarks, the big tweezers are de rigueur. We will prefer those proposed at the output of the graphics cards in question to get an idea, because made with final models and therefore closer to reality. Without forgetting the possibility of coming across fakes.
