The Japanese manufacturer has indeed announced the availability of the System Preview Android M on some of its devices Xperia, including the Xperia Z3 smartphone and the Xperia Z2 Tablet. The file of 53.9 MB is available from this page, where the eligible devices are indicated. Note, however, that this version is intended for developers and that all functions are therefore not activated. Its distribution should speed up the deployment of the final version, once Google has launched.
Among the many new features and improvements brought by Android M, we can recall the new Drawer (where all the installed applications are listed), the quick settings whose organization is customizable, the theme dark, functionality Now on Tap to allow the Google Now assistant to refine his responses according to the context, the finer management of permissions, the new text selection simplified functionality Doze which uses motion sensors to find out if the terminal is being used to limit background processes and thereby reduce energy consumption and the payment solution Android Pay relying on NFC connectivity and the fingerprint reader. We can also mention the support for reversible connectors USB Type C, the native support of fingerprint reader (instead of a solution for each manufacturer), 5 GHz mode for the 3G / 4G sharing via Wi-Fi and better management of MicroSD cards.
