Expected for very long months, the white iPhone 4 will only be available from this Thursday, April 28, 2011. The iPhone 4 was initially announced in two colors: black and white, but Apple has reviewed its plans fairly quickly after many problems.
Steve Jobs, Apple CEO and Phil Schiller, the vice-president agreed to an interview All Things Digital About this delay by clarifying at the outset that it was not as simple to produce the white model of iPhone 4. Indeed, the constraints for its production are not the same as for the black model.
The white color caused unexpected reactions with internal components which required slight modifications including, in particular, a more important UV treatment of the hull of the white iPhone 4. Philippe Schiller explains "like fair-skinned humans, white iPhones need more protection from the sun's ultraviolet rays?.
Steve Jobs goes on to say that they underestimated the adaptation work to bring the white iPhone 4 to make it perfectly functional. He concluded by stating that the work carried out over the past few months will benefit society more generally. He takes for example the white iPad 2 which already benefits from the same treatment as the white iPhone 4 at the hull.
We discuss it on the forum.
