While iOS 4.3.3 has been available for download since yesterday evening, a majority of iDevices jailbreak owners are not yet ready to update their device; for fear of losing access to the unofficial app store, Cydia.
No less than half an hour after the availability of the new firmware, the hacker Ionic already made it known on Twitter that the flaw used by the previous jailbreak method of the "unthetered" type had not been filled by the Cupertino company. However, the different tools for jailbreaking of this type are not yet suitable for use with the new update. It's a safe bet that the various hacker teams are actively working on preparing "their new tool" which will probably be available in a few days.
The ?Tethered? jaibreak is nevertheless possible.
If you accidentally went to iOS 4.3.3 and you already want to take advantage of the jailbreak but in a way tethered (understand that you will have to reconnect your device to your computer each time when it is put into service to re-jailbreak it), a method however, remains possible in particular with the Redsnow software developed by the Dev Team. Please note that we do not recommend doing this jailbreak given the imminent arrival of a complete jailbreak solution. Note that this method only applies to devices with the new bootrom, such as the late-produced iPhone 3GS and the iPhone 4.
Belgium-iPhone is sure to keep you informed of a new jailbreak solution being made available.
Updated 06/05/2011 : The ?unthetered? jailbreak is available.
We discuss it on the forum.
