UK Postal Service ?Royal Mail? offers a new experience of augmented reality through their stamps. The principle is simple, just launch an application – from an iPhone or iPod touch -, "point" the stamp offering this type of experience and then discovering video sequences relating to the history of the ?Royal Mail? and railways in the UK.
"This is the first time that a national post service has used this type of technology on their stamps, we will soon be offering smart stamps explaining the history of our country" says Philip Parker, head of postal strategy at ?Royal Mail?.
The application allowing this type of experience was carried out by the firm Junaio specializes in augmented reality experiences.
We discuss it on the forum.
