For this, the firm announces that from September 30, 2020, if the same file is found in different locations of your personal Drive because you have, for example, put it in several shared folders intended for different groups of people, these duplicates will be removed and automatically replaced by shortcuts which point directly to the source file.
Google Drive shortcuts are visible to anyone who has access to the shared folder containing the shortcut. However, the owner has the possibility to restrict access only to certain people.
