In the next major update to its mobile applications, Twitter is about to integrate filters to modify the appearance of photos published on the microblogging network, reports the New york times.

If Twitter has not managed to get hold of Instagram – and we know that it bites its fingers -, the famous startup of San Francisco would work however to develop a new functionality which would take again this same principle to come then the "Plug" on his social network, reported this Monday on New york times. Indeed, the American daily reports having learned from a good source that Twitter would develop this functionality for its mobile applications (iOS, Android and Windows Phone). The goal of the famous startup would be that its users do not need Instagram to share their edited photos on its site.

When Facebook bought Instagram in April, a lot of information was circulated that Twitter was also in the running to get its hands on the social photo-sharing network co-founded by Kevin Systrom. Unfortunately for him, Facebook burned him out of the negotiation by offering a much larger amount of money.

Subsequently, Twitter was also interested in buying Camera + but the startup, which owns the famous photo editing application, refused the proposal.

Rather than trying to take over a successful photo sharing service, it would seem that Twitter has finally decided to develop such technology in-house. The goal is, as we imagine, to save money and at the same time, to give change back to the social network of Mark Zuckerberg.
