Xbox One

Method 1: Delete local backup games

This option will not delete any game saved on the Xbox Live cloud, it will simply erase the data saved locally. Here's how to do it:

  • First, eject the console disc
  • Scroll left on Xbox Home and open the guide
  • Then go to Settings> All settings> System> Storage> select Clear local backup sets> Yes to confirm.
  • The console will restart. Now try to install the game again.

Method 2: Take the console offline and try to install the game

The second method requires you to take the console offline, cancel the download, turn on the console and once the game is installed, go online and download the update. All the steps are explained one by one.

step 1: disconnect your console

Perform the following operations:

  • Go to the home screen and press the "Menu" button on your controller
  • Then click on "Settings"
  • Then click on "Network"
  • And finally, click on "Disconnect Wireless"

This will end the wireless connection.

Step 2: Cancel the download of the update

The next step is to cancel the download as this is what caused the problem in the first place.

  • Return to the home screen and select "My games and applications"
  • Go to the game you are trying to install and make sure it is highlighted
  • Then press the "Menu" button on the controller
  • And then click on "Cancel"

With this, the download is now canceled.

step 3: Powering up the console

  • Before anything else, eject the disk from your computer. Xbox
  • Then you need to turn off your console. You can do this by pressing and holding the Xbox button on your controller for about ten seconds until the console turns off.
  • After that, turn on your console (either by pressing the Xbox button on the console or the Xbox button on your controller).

When you do this, you should see the boot animation when your console reboots. If you don't see this, repeat these steps (and make sure your console has been completely turned off).

step 4: Install the game

Now, with the Internet connection still on, follow the steps to install the new game. If you do not turn off the Internet connection at this time, the update process may restart and interrupt your installation process.

Wait until the game is fully installed before proceeding to the next step.

step 5: Connect online and install the updates

You can now restore your Internet connection. You can do this by connecting the Ethernet cable to your console if you are using a wired connection.

If you are using a wireless connection, you will need to follow these steps to restore your Internet connection:

  • Make sure you are on the home screen. Press the "Menu" button on your controller
  • Click on "Settings"
  • In the following list, click on "Network"
  • And then click on "Configure wireless network"
  • There will be instructions on how to connect your Xbox One to the Internet. Just follow them.

Once your Internet connection is restored, your game updates will now be downloaded and installed without any problems.
