Francesca Gregorini, director of "The Truth About Emanuel", says that the "Servant" series has taken over the plot of her film. Add that the same "cinematic language" was copied. The result is very similar to his film in terms of feelings and themes.

In addition to talking about the parallel points of the plot, Gregorini says that Servant also presents characters, scenes and staging choices and surprisingly similar and highly idiosyncratic narrative methods .

Arrived at the cinema in 2013, the film "The Truth About Emanuel" with Kaya Scoddelario and Jessica Biel features a 17-year-old babysitter who takes care of a child who turns out to be a stern. This stern was created to replace a recently deceased child. The subject, it must be said, is quite similar to that of Servant.

The director?s lawsuit involves Apple TV +, show creator Tony Basgallop, producer M. Night Shyamalan and other producers in the series. Shyamalan and the other creators of the show said that "Servant" was in development before the release of "The Truth About Emanuel":

The accused strongly rejected Gregorini's claims that Servant was in development long before "The Truth About Emanuel" and that any similarity was nothing more than a coincidence. Indeed, Shyamalan and Mr. Basgallop plausibly claim that they have never seen "The Truth About Emanuel".

Gregorini is claiming unspecified damages, the benefits Apple has made with the series and an injunction to prevent the distribution of "Servant".

It remains to be seen how this case will unfold.
