Apple Releases Xcode 11.3.1 For Developers

enero 16, 2020

Apple has released Xcode 11.3.1 for developers, a version that brings several bugfixes and improvements. These include reducing the size of the dependency files produced by the Swift compiler, improving incremental build times, and using disk space for destinations containing many source files.

Xcode 11.3.1

As with Xcode 11.3, version 11.3.1 also supports application development for iOS 13.3, iPadOS 13.3, macOS 10.15.2, watchOS 6.1 and tvOS 13.3. Apple claims to have fixed a bug in Xcode in the storyboard area that could cause the development tool to crash.

So even with this update, new versions of the operating systems are not supported. This is not a big deal, as it has been almost a month since Apple released a new beta version for its software platforms. The first beta version of iOS 13.3.1, iPadOS 13.3.1, macOS 10.15.3, watchOS 6.1.2 and tvOS 13.3.1 was released on December 17. Since then, no other version has been made available. During the Christmas holidays, Apple always stops publishing beta, but generally the cycle resumes in early January. This year there seems to be a bit of a delay.

On a Xcode note, Apple reminded developers that starting in April 2020, apps sent to the App Store must use an Xcode storyboard to provide the app?s splash screen. Add that they must also have an interface that supports display size.
