How to take a screenshot on a Chromebook: full screen

On Chromebooks, you have two options: you can capture the entire screen or just the corresponding part. First, we will show you the exercise for the entire screen.

The key combination is Ctrl + Change Windows key.

Not sure what the Windows selector looks like? It's here.

The key is usually located just above the number 6 on your keyboard.

When you press these keys simultaneously, you are warned that the screenshot has been taken. From there, you can either click on Copy to clipboard, then press Ctrl + V to paste it where you want. Or, you can go to the "Downloads" folder. Then you can do whatever you want with the screenshot. You can open it with the Chromebook photo viewer to edit it, download it to Google Drive, or send it to someone. It's you.

How to take a screenshot on a Chromebook: part of the screen

Chromebooks let you capture only part of the screen if that's best for you. The key combination you need to press is similar to the one we presented to you above.

To capture the part of the screen, press Ctrl + Shift + Change Windows key (the one on the image above).

As you can see, all you have to do is add Shift. Instead of the whole screen, you can only capture part of it. When you press the keys, the mouse pointer changes to a crosshair. This allows you to select the area you want to capture.

As before, you can either copy to the clipboard and then paste the screenshot where you want by pressing Ctrl + V. or go to the Downloads folder.
