Delete duplicates and other unnecessary files
The more age a computer takes, the more files it accumulates.
Over time, these hamper the performance of your PC as it has to dig deeper and deeper to find the programs and folders you need.
Erasing junk files from your computer is a must to make your device faster.
To do this, you can either use a third-party application like Easy Duplicate Finder, or use Disk Cleanup, a utility prinstall on all Windows.
Disk Cleanup will let you know which files you should be able to delete without regret and the space it will free up on your hard drive.
Remove unnecessary programs
Continue on the same run, this time tackling unnecessary and unnecessary programs.
Windows has its own tool for uninstalling programs. To display it, simply do a search in your Start menu (tap Add or remove a program) Or go to your Application Settings and functionality.
Browse the list of programs and find the ones you don't use. To delete them, press their icon then press Uninstall.
You can also use an application like Revo Uninstaller Pro to make sure that all traces of these programs have been removed.

On Windows 7, click on the menu Dmarrer, then on All the programs Accessories System Tools and finally Disk defragmentation.
On Windows 8 and 10, defragmentation is supposed to happen automatically every week.
To verify that this is the case, you can type Defragment and optimize readers in the search bar of the Start menu.
The window that opens then displays the different hard drives on your computer. If you see that one of them is fragment 10% or more, you can click on it then on Analyze. Confirm your choice.
Deactivate programs at startup
If your computer is slow to start, it is probably because it is loading too many programs simultaneously.
On Windows 7, type msconfig in the search bar of the Start menu. In the window that opens, click on tab Booting then deselect the programs that you do not want to launch when you launch your PC.
On Windows 10, and 8 type Task manager in the search bar of the Start menu and click on More details.
