Some Smart Battery Cases are experiencing a charging problem, such that Apple has launched a recall program. This concerns the battery cases of the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and iPhone XR.
Apparently, the charge shows signs of weakness: interrupted charge or incomplete charge:
Apple has determined that certain Smart Battery Cases for iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and iPhone XR may be subject to charging issues. An affected Smart Battery Case may have one or more of the following symptoms:
The SBC does not charge or intermittently charges when a power source is connected.
The SBC does not charge the iPhone or charge it intermittently. The affected units were manufactured between January 2019 and October 2019. It is not a security issue. Apple or an Apple authorized service center will replace the eligible SBCs free of charge.
If you are concerned, all you have to do is approach an Apple Store or Apple Customer Service. This will allow you to benefit from a free replacement. Knowing that the shell still costs 150, it is worth taking advantage of this recall program.
