In case of big problem on the PC, the mode without fail can reveal your best friend. But under Windows 10, Microsoft has made it more difficult to access than under older versions of the operating system. Here's how to access all the way to the safe mode of Windows 10.

Windows 10 Safe Mode

Under Windows 8 and Windows 10, Microsoft has implemented a new PC startup method, which offers a much faster system launch. Of course, this gain in speed is felt especially on a comfortably equipped configuration of a SSD, at least 8 GB of RAM and a Core i processor (or its equivalent at AMD). The other side of the coin is that to save time on the load, Microsoft took advantage of it to remove the F8 key, which allowed you to access different PC boot modes. And that's a problem when you want to start the mode without fail from the PC.

What is the mode without Windows failure?

The mode has not existed since Windows 95. It is not a Microsoft exclusivity, since it also finds this famous mode without failure on Android, Unix, macOS, but also Firefox, etc. On Windows, it allows free from all programs and drivers which usually start at the start of the operating system. Only the necessary Windows components are running, nothing else. You then have a minimalist display, without connection and without support for devices connected to the computer. However, this mode is particularly useful when your configuration shows signs of weakness in the programs or drivers that are responsible for booting. It allows you to identify the culprits, in order to uninstall them later, and repair your PC in case of a crash. Thanks to the safe mode, you can reprint and unmount poorly installed drivers and poorly installed or resource-intensive software, all within minutes.

Accessing Safe Mode Directly from Windows 10

  4. On the new screen that is present, press the touch 4, which corresponds to the mode without failure. <img class = "aligncenter wp-image-2260379 size-full" src = "data: image / svg + xml,% 3Csvg% 20xmlns = 'http: //www.w3.org/2000/svg'%20viewBox=' 0% 200% 20840% 20525 '% 3E% 3C / svg% 3E” alt=”Windows 10 Safe Mode” width=”840″ height=”525″ data-lazy- data-lazy- data-lazy-src=”https://img.phonandroid.com/2019/11/Windows-10-Mode-Sans-Echec-05.jpg”/>

Activate the F8 key

Even though Microsoft has removed access to the safe mode via the F8 key, it is still possible to switch it easily enough. To do this, start by opening the command as administrator. Note that it will imperatively pass through the command prompt and not the Windows 10 PowerShell:

  1. From the Windows 10 search field, enter the term cmd. A list of results is presented. In the right part, select the option Execute as administrator. Accept the user account control message. <img class = "aligncenter wp-image-2260382 size-full" src = "data: image / svg + xml,% 3Csvg% 20xmlns = 'http: //www.w3.org/2000/svg'%20viewBox=' 0% 200% 20840% 20525 '% 3E% 3C / svg% 3E” alt=”Windows 10 Safe Mode” width=”840″ height=”525″ data-lazy- data-lazy- data-lazy-src=”https://img.phonandroid.com/2019/11/Windows-10-Mode-Sans-Echec-07.jpg”/>
  2. Enter the following command line:bcdedit / set {default} bootmenupolicy legacyAt the next restart of the computer, the F8 key will be accessible again and will allow you to access the mode without fail. Finally, note that it must be used after loading the BIOS / UEFI, and not during (in which case you will access the BIOS preferences according to the model of your motherboard). <img class = "aligncenter wp-image-2260380 size-full" src = "data: image / svg + xml,% 3Csvg% 20xmlns = 'http: //www.w3.org/2000/svg'%20viewBox=' 0% 200% 20840% 20525 '% 3E% 3C / svg% 3E” alt=”Windows 10 Safe Mode” width=”840″ height=”525″ data-lazy- data-lazy- data-lazy-src=”https://img.phonandroid.com/2019/11/Windows-10-Mode-Sans-Echec-06.jpg”/>
