If you have a Huawei or Honor smartphone with the EMUI board interface, you may have already encountered the term Dropzone. But what is this feature and how does it work? The answer in our article!
Dropzone is a feature of Huawei's Android interface, EMUI. This is a notification management feature that can limit or prevent the appearance of pop-up notifications in applications. It is particularly useful with messaging applications such as Facebook Messenger, where system warning windows appear when you are in the application, allowing you to quickly view the message received.
Basically, this works both by allowing and preventing the overlap of these warning windows on the screen. Huawei or Honor, call that "drawing over" in the smartphone menus. Dropzone is useful not only for messaging applications, but also for launchers and navigation systems using third-party gestures.
Dropzone does not appear as an item in the Settings menu, but you can find it in the preinstalled device management application. To enable or disable Dropzone on your Huawei or Honor device, you will need to follow these simple steps:
- Select the Optimizer app (on some devices it's called Phone Manager)
- Slectionnez Dropzone
- You can now decide whether to enable or disable it for some or all of the screened applications.
As you can see on the screenshots above, Dropzone is not listed in the normal Settings menu but you will have to look for it in the EMUI system application. This application has different names, Phone Manager or Optimizer, but you can recognize the icon with the white shield on a blue background.
