100,000 Hotmail accounts have been activated every day since the introduction of iOS 5 on October 12.
Microsoft reveals on its blog that more than 2 million Hotmail accounts are read iOS 5 and use on iPhone and iPad. This number continues to grow every day since 100,000 new accounts are registered every day from iOS 5.
In 40% of cases, these Hotmail account activations are done from an iPhone 4, 24% from an iPhone 4S and 12% from iPhone 3GS.
The Redmond company welcomes these figures, especially since the announcement yesterday by Google of the launch of its GMAIL application for iPhone. Despite the success of GMAIL, Hotmail remains the leader in the world market of Internet-based messaging with Yahoo! Mail in second place. Google is only third place.
Microsoft is not the only one delighted with iOS 5 since Twitter CEO Dick Costolo said Twitter registrations have tripled in the space of a month.
We discuss it on the forum.
